Eva Olson

“I was running and running as fast as I could, without forgetting my little sister. I was only 19 when I was sent to Accretes, Concentration Camp. We were pushed into boxcars, with hardly any oxygen left to breath. What had I done wrong? I was only a Jew and I still will be one forever.”

Wow this speaker was amazing. Survivor of the Holocaust, is 85-year-old Eva Olson. This fantastic lady had survived many different fearful adventures in her life. For example, she witnessed her mother dying, she was physically beaten up and she wasn’t able to attend school. If you ever get the opportunity to hear Eva Olson speak, go for it, she is amazing.
A word we use every day, which we don’t even realize what it really means is the word hate. Whether you don’t want to go to school or you are having troubles with your family, you should never hate. From the lips of Eva, it’s ok to dislike, but never to hate. Hate is what started the war, the Nazis hated the Jews. If they would have just disliked them, maybe a war would of never occurred.

Also, you should never get bullied, be a bully or even be a bystander. This is so important to Eva Olson because the Nazis were bullying her. "Nazis aren’t only German" she says, "Nazis can be anyone.’’ The Nazis hated the Jews so much that they bullied them into concentration camps for no reason. They were the ones who killed her mother, captured her father, tortured her and destroyed her childhood. Remember never get bullied, be a bully or even a bystander.

A great role model, fantastic speaker and survivor of the Holocaust is Eva Olson. A woman who changed my life and probably yours too. If you are reading this right now Eva, I want to congratulate you on all your success in life and want to say thanks for allowing us to appreciate our lives a lot more.
