YRSA

A life changing experience. Trying new foods. Meeting new people. Seeing different cultures. Learning things we can do to save the environment is young round square.

On Sunday, May 2nd 2010 was the beginning of a journey of a lifetime. We traveled to the beautiful province of New Brunswick, as did 99 other delegates from 26 different schools, 9 different countries, and 4 different continents. We met people from USA, Bangladesh, Germany, Peru, Japan, Ecuador, India, Singapore, and all parts of Canada. Everyday of our one-week trip was an adventure. We experienced fun activities from tree planting to the Bay of Fundy, Glen Burn, and touring the largest oil refinery in Canada. Other activities included were geo-caching, garbage clean up, hiking, games, and helping build a home for Habitat For Humanity.

During the evenings we watched great performances from Mike Ford, cultural dances, and Judson Laipply who created the most popular video on youtube, The Evolution Of Dance, which we had the opportunity to learn one afternoon.
It was a one and only experience that we will never forget. We made long lasting friendships that brought tears to our eyes when we bid our goodbyes on Friday, May 7. We learned so many new things about what we can do to help the environment that we will use to make our school a better place.3

Life Lesson- “Life isn’t always going to be the party we’d hoped for, but while we are here, we might as well dance.” – Judson Laipply.
